That works for viewing XPS documents. Five files are required: xpsrchvw.exe xpsrchvw.chm xpsfilt.dll en_us_xpsrchvw.exe.mui xpsrchvw.exe.mui I had to enter the necessary registry keys and values manually for: HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Classes\.xps" HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Classes\Windows.XPSReachViewer" HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Classes\Windows.XPSRichPreview" HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Classes\Windows.XPSRichPreview.1" HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{1E4CEC13-76BD-4ce2-8372-711CB6F10FD1}" HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{2A196062-812A-4249-B04A-797971DC466C}" HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{85862EDA-F507-4d5b-ACA9-BB2C34A85682}" HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\PreviewHandlers" I just went through the trouble of porting the XpsRchVw.exe to Server 2008.
